How allied industries can get the most from NPA ... stand for election

One easy way to get maximum value from NPA is to contribute directly to its workings by standing for election to the Allied Industry Group committee. Bi-monthly meetings are always informative and the association takes very seriously the contribution of Allied Industry Group members to the formulation of policy. It is also vital that lines of communication at this formal level are maintained between suppliers and prime producers — Hugh Crabtree.

Go for it — you won't be sorry, say these past and present members of NPA Producer Group

It's an enjoyable challenge that has you leading our industry. You meet some excellent people and learn a bit for your own business along the way
Phil Stephenson

It's your best chance to help the industry and help set our direction at a crucial time. Don't end up regretting missing your chance!
— Sam Godfrey.

Go for it — it's in your best interests. Just get your finger out and make a difference!
Richard Lister

At the five meetings a year you are required to attend you will gain a fascinating insight into how the pig industry works, the challenges and opportunities it faces, and how dedicated the NPA are in getting the best outcomes possible for our industry
Andrew Freemantle

With Brexit now imminent together with its opportunities and threats, with those who would try and undermine our industry as determined as ever, and with some trying to drive a wedge between indoor and outdoor production methods, now is a time for strong, brave and effective leadership. So, if you want to be a part of shaping the future of a professional, efficient, high welfare and diverse British pig production industry, are you bold enough to put your head above the parapet? Yes, of course you bloody well are. So get on and do it
Richard Longthorp

NPA NEEDS YOU! I did not join this great industry to be a "veggie"
Colin Stone

This is an opportunity to help shape future direction, and help our fantastic NPA team deliver for the industry. Get involved, sharing and expanding your knowledge at the same time
Simon Guise.

It's well worthwhile. You see the larger picture, go to meetings you wouldn't have the opportunity to attend otherwise, meet farmers from across the country and challenge yourself to think about the industry as a whole
— Sally Stockings

We are going to need a number of good, no, great people to come forward and take responsibility. It's a really good feeling when you know you've delivered something for the good of the whole industry
Stewart Houston

What a great opportunity: shaping our industry, fighting its cause, gaining insight into the cogs that whirr behind the scenes and the chance to chat with other forward-thinking farmers and industry members... why wouldn't you stand?
— Sophie Hope
